New Grange 8m Low Disturbance Loosener (LDL)

Grange Machinery is proud to introduce the new 8m Low Disturbance Loosener (LDL), a high-output machine designed for farmers and contractors who want to cover more ground efficiently while taking a targeted approach to soil loosening.

The new Grange 8m LDL combines a wider working width with a fully featured hydraulic specification, giving operators greater control when working across varying soil and field conditions. Featuring hydraulic front discs, hydraulic reset tine protection, hydraulic rear depth control, a four-point linkage connection, hydraulic levelling paddles and a choice of packer roller, the 8m LDL is designed for high-output, low disturbance soil loosening.

A low disturbance loosener is a type of agricultural cultivator designed to loosen compacted soil beneath the surface while minimising unnecessary soil disturbance. Soil compaction can restrict root development, affect water movement and create challenges for crop establishment. Targeted soil loosening can help address these issues without the need to aggressively cultivate the entire soil profile.

With an 8m working width, the new LDL allows operators to cover more hectares during valuable working windows. The hydraulic front discs help manage surface residue ahead of the loosening tines, with adjustment to suit the field conditions and the amount of surface material present.

The 8m LDL features hydraulic reset tine protection for demanding working conditions. When a tine encounters an underground obstruction, the hydraulic reset system allows it to trip and then return to its working position — providing an important level of protection for the machine while helping maintain efficient progress through the field.

The machine features hydraulic rear depth control, giving the operator convenient control over the working depth. Behind the loosening tines, hydraulic levelling paddles help manage and level the worked soil before it reaches the rear packer roller. The 8m LDL is available with a choice of packer roller, allowing the machine to be specified around the requirements of the individual farm or contracting operation.
