Grange Tine Drill Toolbar: Engineered for Direct Seeding
As the drilling season approaches, attention turns towards getting seed into the ground efficiently and establishing the crop as well as possible. The Grange Tine Drill Toolbar has been developed with exactly that in mind.
As the drilling season approaches, attention turns towards getting seed into the ground efficiently and establishing the crop as well as possible. For direct drilling systems, that means having a machine capable of maintaining consistent depth and seed placement while working across different soil types and changing field conditions.
The Grange Tine Drill Toolbar (TDT) has been developed with exactly that in mind. Built around a robust rear drill frame, the TDT combines hydraulic depth control, contour-following wings and flexible coulter options to create a drilling system that can be configured around different operations.
Available in a range of working widths and designed to integrate with existing seeding equipment, it provides a flexible approach to direct drilling, whether working on heavy clay or lighter sandy loam soils. Available from RRP £32,125 + VAT in 3m, 4m, 4.5m, 4.8m, 5m and 6m configurations.
No two fields are exactly the same, and even within one field, ground conditions can change considerably. The TDT uses twin centre-pivoting wings, allowing each side of the machine to contour by up to ±5°. The wings are hydraulically folding for transport, while the centre-pivoting design allows the toolbar to follow undulating ground more closely during work.
Depth is one of the key considerations when drilling, and the TDT gives the operator control over coulter depth through its hydraulic land wheel system. The system allows adjustment from 0" to 7", providing the flexibility to alter working depth according to soil conditions and requirements.
The TDT uses 20mm Grange tines arranged over four rows at 250mm spacing. The toolbar is also designed to accept Bourgault tungsten-tipped coulters, including single 19mm coulters or 4" paired-row coulters with a fertiliser channel. The quick-swap arrangement allows the coulter setup to be changed to suit different crops and drilling requirements.
The TDT can be specified with either a hydraulically adjustable levelling paddle system or a double 'Z' tine rear harrow. Both options provide three adjustment positions, allowing the rear finishing system to be altered according to soil type and residue levels.
The TDT incorporates adjustable track eradication brackets, with two 1.1m-wide brackets designed to accommodate wheel centres from approximately 1.5m to 3.0m+. A heavy-duty Category 3 and 4 headstock is fitted as standard, with approximately 250hp+ recommended for the 6m configuration.
Alongside new-build TDT configurations, Grange Machinery currently has a 6m Tine Drill Toolbar available and ready to go. For anyone considering a larger-capacity drilling system ahead of the season, an available machine provides an alternative to waiting for a future production slot.
